Terms of Service
The terms you agree to when you use this website or book coaching, a retreat, or corporate work.
Agreement to these terms
By using this website, or by booking any service described on it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site or book a service.
These services are offered by Makayla Maniscalco, a transformational coach practising from Westminster, Colorado. Contact for anything in these terms is makayla@heartandhomeconnection.com.
What is offered
- Private 1:1 transformational coaching, in person across Denver and the Front Range, and virtually worldwide.
- International retreats for women and leaders.
- Corporate wellness experiences and speaking engagements.
The specific coaching container, its length, and its fee are designed for each client and agreed between you and Makayla before any work begins.
Coaching is not therapy or medical care
This is the most important term on this page. Coaching is not psychotherapy, counselling, medical treatment, or diagnosis, and Makayla is not acting as a licensed clinician. Nothing in a session, on a retreat, or on this website is medical or psychological advice.
Coaching does not replace care from a licensed professional. If you are in crisis, experiencing a mental health emergency, or need treatment for a diagnosed condition, contact a licensed clinician or your local emergency service. You are encouraged to keep working with any clinician you already see.
You remain responsible for your own medical and psychological care, and for the decisions you make in your own life.
No guarantee of results
Coaching depends on your participation, your honesty, and what you choose to do outside sessions. For that reason no particular outcome is promised or guaranteed, whether emotional, personal, professional, or financial.
Client testimonials on this site describe the experience of those individuals. They are not a prediction of your result.
Who can book
You must be at least 18 years old to book coaching or a retreat, and you must have the legal capacity to enter into an agreement.
Your responsibilities as a client
- Give accurate information at intake, including anything relevant to your safety and wellbeing.
- Tell Makayla if you are under the care of a clinician for a mental health condition, so the work can be scoped appropriately.
- Take responsibility for your own choices, actions, and results.
- Treat sessions, and everyone in any group or retreat setting, with respect and confidentiality.
Fees and payment
Coaching fees depend on the container designed for you and are agreed in writing before the work begins. Retreat pricing is set out on the page for that retreat.
Retreat payment plans are available. A deposit reserves your place, and the balance is either paid in full or billed as automatic instalments to a card on file. All retreat guests must be paid in full 45 days before departure.
Cancelling or rescheduling a coaching session
Please give at least 24 hours notice to reschedule a 1:1 session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice, and missed sessions, may be counted as used.
Life happens, and genuine emergencies are treated as such. If something goes wrong, get in touch as early as you can.
Coaching fees are not refundable once a programme has begun. Any exception is at Makayla’s discretion.
Retreat deposits and cancellations
Retreats carry a strict cancellation policy, because the costs of running one are committed far in advance.
- All deposits are non refundable.
- If you notify us by email more than 90 days before the retreat start date that you wish to cancel, the value of your registration can be refunded, minus the non refundable deposit, and only if your place can be filled by another participant.
- There are no refunds, without exception, for any cancellation made within 90 days of the retreat.
- No credit or refund is given for no shows, late cancellations, or leaving a retreat early.
Travel insurance is strongly recommended to protect your trip. It is the appropriate way to cover the risks this policy does not.
If a retreat has to be cancelled or rescheduled by us, you will be contacted directly to arrange a transfer or a refund of amounts paid.
Rescheduling by us
Occasionally a session may need to be moved. If that happens you will be given as much notice as possible and offered an alternative time at no cost to you.
Content on this website
The writing, design, photography, and video on this site belong to Makayla Maniscalco unless stated otherwise. What you may do with it is set out on the licensing page.
How you may use the site itself, and how you are asked to conduct yourself in sessions and on retreats, is set out in the acceptable use policy. That policy forms part of these terms.
Links to other sites
This site links to other websites, including the booking platform, a partner retreat, and social media profiles. Those sites are not controlled here and are not the responsibility of this practice. Their terms and privacy policies apply when you use them.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Makayla Maniscalco is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses arising from your use of this site or the services, including lost profits or lost opportunity.
Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you actually paid for the service that the claim relates to.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Privacy
How your information is handled is set out in the privacy policy, which forms part of these terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Colorado.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated. The date they were last updated is shown at the foot of this page, taken from the site records. Continuing to use the site or book services after a change means you accept the updated terms.
